What are Adverbs of Time?


Adverbs of time tell us when something happens. They answer the when question.

Adverbs of manner usually modify verbs.

Example

Ben is working today.

When is Ben working?

Position of Adverbs of Time in a Sentence

 

The normal position for adverbs of time is at the end of a sentence.

We can put an adverb of time at the beginning of the sentence to emphasise the adverb.

Yesterday I ate a hamburger.
